Cannabinoids' Effects on Driving
Dr. Huestis is the former Chief of Chemistry and Drug Metabolism of the National Institute on Drug Abuse’s Intramural Research Program and a world-renowned expert on forensic toxicology. Her research program focused on discovering mechanisms of action of cannabinoid agonists and antagonists, effects of in utero drug exposure, oral fluid testing, driving under the influence of drugs, and the neurobiology and pharmacokinetics of novel psychoactive substances. She has published over 500 peer-reviewed manuscripts and served in many prominent positions. Her talk will address traffic safety concerns related to cannabis use.
