Justice Talks: A TEDxCUNY John Jay Salon Event

Event Description:

Justice Talks is a symposium that will take place on April 30th, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:30pm in the Black Box Theater in the New Building.

This event will feature TED talks and performances that unites activists and change makers as they share real solutions taking place in our communities. We amplify these solutions through performance, art, and creative expression.

Join us as we examine topics of prisoner re-entry, the effects of mass incarceration on various populations, the redefinition of race, law, and civil rights in the 21st century through a feminist perspective, poetic justice, LGBTQ and sex worker rights, and alternatives to mass incarceration and social injustices.

This event is open to the public, and will feature five speakers, three performances, and a social justice workshop/mixer. We invite you to join us as we dedicate this night to the sharing of our stories and our solutions to modern injustices.

Seating will begin at 5PM. Entry to the event will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
