Career Chats are virtual Sessions where you can hear from Employers about their career journey and ask questions along the way!

Guest speak is Jason Luis Quinones, PhD.

Brief Bio: After graduating with my PhD in molecular and cellular pharmacology from Stony Brook University and completing a short post-doc at SUNY Downstate in breast cancer, I decided to pursue a career in medical writing -- I found out during graduate school that I love communicating science, so my dream career was to write about the very topics I had become so engrossed in and passionate about. Several years later after gaining experience as a freelancer writer, I entered the medical communications industry, working full-time for Springer Nature as an entry-level sales training medical writer for the healthcare training team. Since education is at the heart of why I chose a career in science - the pursuit of life-long knowledge -- I then moved on to a rewarding position as a scientific content developer with Medscape (part of WebMD). Here, in my current capacity, I now develop continuing medical education and continuing nursing education programs using videos, animations, and text-based mediums to deliver high quality, medically accurate CME/CNE content. Currently, my medical writing expertise focuses on developing CME/CNE products for doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare specialists in the hematology-oncology space.
