The El Paso Project is an
initiative by the Latin American and Latinx Studies Department in solidarity
with the people of El Paso, Texas, and with the University of Texas at El Paso
(UTEP) following the tragic shooting this summer. The Project is hosting
a yearlong series of activities, an below is a list of ongoing and upcoming

The poster art designed by our students in solidarity with El Paso is up on the 8th floor of the New Building hallway adjacent the Latin American and Latinx Studies Department. Please come by to sign it with a message of solidarity. It will be presented to our sister department, UTEP’s Chicano Studies Department, at the end of this month.

2019-2020 Academic Year
Over the course of the 2019-2010 academic year, students and faculty will collaborate in developing a syllabus/curriculum on anti-Latinx hate in the United States, past and present.
