SHOWDOWN: John Jay Fall 2022 Student Production
SHOWDOWN, a transformative evening of theatre where actors go head-to-head and toe to toe to find and bring home the truth, will be presented at the Gerald Lynch Theater at John Jay College for Criminal Justice on Tuesday, November 29 and Wednesday, November 30.
Performances are at 1:40PM and 7PM each day. Originally produced at Otisville Correctional Facility,
SHOWDOWN is a panoply of scenes mirroring classic plays whose conflicts are relevant to the struggles of today. Some comments from audience members who attended the original production at OCF: At the beginning of the show a character said this is all about truth… and my God that’s what it was… truth. It’s a piece of everybody’s life. Everything that you said, everything that you did … You brought me to tears twice, and I’m not an emotional person… I’m better for having been here.
SHOWDOWN is written and directed by Richard Hoehler and the twenty-one-member cast (all John Jay students) features Shak Akhtamov, Raul Cobeo, Bianca Cobos, Ana Contreras, Destiny Dean, Lorielle Diaz, Anthony Garcia, Nevaeh Gibson, Charlie Grosso, Benny Heredia, Justo Hierro, Sarah James, Olga Jiminez, Milton Jones, Philip Kasina, Alex Krojcer, Andrez Mendez[1]Paris, Edward Ortega, Harry Perez, James Ruiz, and Aziz Sharipov. Lighting Design by Michael Abrams, Costume Design by Lexy Ramos, and Sound Design by Jonathan Lorenzo.
