In 1990, John Jay Professor José Luis Morín filed a petition against the U.S. government on behalf of civilian victims of the 1989 U.S. invasion of Panama. 28 years later, the Inter‐American Commission of Human Rights issued its decision, finding the United States in violation of the fundamental rights of civilian Panamanians, including the right to life, the right to the protection for mothers and children, the right to property, and the right to justice. Come hear Prof. Morín talk about the long journey in pursuit of human rights and justice.
