This panel discusses how Hurricanes Irma and Maria compounded violence for domestic violence survivors in Puerto Rico by crippling their access to social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure while examining how the current US (anti)immigration and anti LGBT+ policies have exacerbated violence specifically for immigrant and LGBT women in the colony archipelago. Based on the Georgetown Law Journal of Gender and the Law article (forthcoming April 2019).
