what skills are needed to excel in the field.
Executives in Residence presents Gail Sealey, with over 25 years
working for the New York City Department of Probation.
She began her career as an Investigative Probation Officer.
Where she was responsible for interviewing and gathering al
l pertinent information from defendants by compiling personal
and confidential information that had a direct effect on the
Courts decisions in sentencing.
She then secured a promotional opportunity within the Court Liaison
Unit which handles the violations of probation. It was her duty to act
as a representative for the Department of Probation in a capacity that
insured probation clients are held responsible for non-compliance with
the department's directives as initially rendered by the court.
Gail Sealey continued to pursue professional growth in her field and
served in the Neighborhood Outreach Network (NeON). This program
has satellite offices that are generally located in most of the probation
clients' immediate neighborhoods. Reporting to probation is made more
convenient for the clients and for the probation officers to be of assistance
more readily.
Currently, Gail serves as a Court Liaison Supervising Probation Officer for the Bronx County.
