Peggy Menard is a Vice President, Large Property Leader for Sompo International, a global insurance carrier. She is responsible for leading strategic distribution, profitable growth and customer retention efforts in the Pacific Southwest & South-Central regions.
Prior to joining Sompo International, Peggy was the NY Property Hub Leader for the Qualified Solutions Group at Marsh's New York City office. While at Marsh, Peggy was responsible for leading a team of brokers who handled and marketed property placements, supporting the client teams with the delivery of all Marsh resources to their clients, developing marketplace strategies, and crafting solutions for unusual businesses and insurance risks.
In addition, Peggy spent sixteen years working at Chubb, her last role there being a Senior Underwriter in the Real Estate Unit focusing primarily on Real Estate & Hospitality Large Accounts. In this role, she successfully developed creative risk transfer programs that have reduced costs, enhanced value, and increased client control of their risk management programs.
Although Peggy has held various positions of leadership in the insurance industry, her passion has always been diversity and inclusion. Peggy is an active member of the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA), where she helped build a pipeline for diverse talent as well as aid in the appointments of small agents when she worked with Chubb. Today, Peggy continues to be a champion of diversity through her continuous efforts with NAAIA, The Water Street Club, and Sompo International’s Inclusive Diversity group.
Born in Miami, Florida and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Peggy is of Haitian ethnicity. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Forensic Psychology at John Jay college of Criminal Justice in 2006 and currently resides in Queens, NY with her partner, daughter Kianah (currently a student at Virginia State University) and her 1 year old son Crew. Outside of work, Peggy enjoys spending quality time with her family and sister-friends, traveling, writing, word games, and interior decorating/design!
