New York State law prohibits certain interrogation practices yet does not require the police to record interrogations to provide an accurate and objective record.
This forum will discuss the significance & implications of the “gap” in New York State interrogation law focusing on People v. Thomas, which reversed Adrian Thomas’ murder conviction because the New York State Court of Appeals found the original police interrogation had been coercive. Learn more about the case here.
