Free Tax Preparation Services
Offered by Single Stop

January 24^th to April 13^th
Hours: Monday & Thursday 10am - 4pm; Tuesday & Wednesday 10am – 6pm; Friday 10am – 12pm
Walk-in, no appointment necessary

This service is free and available to current John Jay students and those who live with them. The income for each return must be less than $54,000. Tax preparers are certified by the IRS. Be sure to bring the following documents to file:

• Social Security Card
• Photo ID
• W-2 for each job
• Your spouse if married and filing jointly
• Child Care documentation and Tax ID number if claiming Child Care Tax Credit
• Other related documents (1099, 1098-T, etc.)
• Bank Account & Routing Number or voided check to receive your refund faster using Direct Deposit

Returns for 2013-2015 and amendments can be filed after the first week in March.

Single Stop offers free financial counseling and legal assistance year-round. We also screen for public benefits and assist our students in applying for the appropriate benefits and services. Students who are already receiving benefits can come to Single Stop for recertification help and advocacy when facing difficulties. Stop by the Wellness Center for more information.
