Event Description:
Mayors Against Illegal Guns: How are Mayors Taking Responsibility for Addressing Gun Violence in Their Cities? (Panel discussion with Q&A)
This event marks the launch of a John Jay College initiative called "America’s Gun Epidemic: A Question of Public Health, Security, and Freedom". The Gun Violence Initiative will explore this issue in depth, using an interdisciplinary approach. We will look at the impact of gun violence on individuals, families, and entire communities – and by extension, the at times divisive politics of how we prevent gun violence while preserving gun rights.
