Gavin Benke will join us to talk about his book, Risk and Ruin: Enron and the Culture of American Capitalism. Dr. Benke's research examines how language and culture shape business practices and institutions. He teaches writing through a focus on the history of capitalism at Boston University.
 
After the Gavin Benke presentation, Distinguished Lecturer David Shapiro will comment on his experience and Gavin Benke's book. David Shapiro worked on the Enron restructuring team and teaches in the fraud examination and financial forensics program at John Jay College.
