Karla Alfaro is currently working with the Capital Youth Empowerment Program as Management Analyst and Data Manager. Ms. Alfaro has extensive experience providing bilingual and supervisory support, crisis intervention, case management, and advocacy within the government and non-profit sectors. Ms. Alfaro has a vast knowledge and background working with survivors of domestic violence, rape, and sexual assault. In addition, Ms. Alfaro has experience providing triage support and assistance to marginalized families and communities while working as a Bilingual Dispute Resolution Specialist with the D.C. Superior Court of Appeals. Prior to joining the CYEP team, Ms. Alfaro worked with Arlington County Courthouse as a Juvenile Probation Officer providing comprehensive case management and wrap-around services to at-risk and court-involved youths and as a Support Specialist with the Rape, Abuse, and National Network working with survivors. Ms. Alfaro holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice, with Minors in Law and Criminology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice/CUNY. She is currently working on obtaining her Master of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Justice Leadership from the University of Baltimore.
