| Integrating Information: Summary, Paraphrase, Quotation |

Event Description:
In this workshop, students will develop the ability to incorporate information from readings into well-written paragraphs in order to support their ideas or claims; the workshop demonstrates how to present such information effectively by means of pertinent quotations, paraphrases, statistics, and charts. Additionally, students will also learn how to use brief summary and context to explain the information. The skills learned here are essential for constructing convincing response papers, writing policy memoranda, and for meeting the requirements of the MPAQE. The workshop has a hands-on component. |

Admission Information
Only MPA students who were registered during fall 2015 or are registered for spring 2016 are eligible to attend the workshops. |
Other Details
To register for the workshops, students MUST sign up for workshops in advance either through TutorTrac (https://jjctutortrac.jjay.cuny.edu/TracWeb40/default.html), or email writing@jjay.cuny.edu their workshop choices with title, date, and time. Since the Center is closed in January to the general population, there will be no one to answer phones in case there is a problem with registering through TutorTrac. In that case, students can only register by email and receive confirmation of such via email. If they need to cancel, they must follow the same procedure. |
