Ombuds Confidential

In many ways, the role of Organizational Ombudsperson seems to be the holy grail of jobs for ADR practitioners. Organizational Ombuds are (usually) paid well and often enjoy a degree of respect and prestige within an organization. Much like the role of mediator, the role can seem shrouded in mystery as its practice is governed first by the practitioner’s commitment to confidentiality. In fact, one could argue that an Ombuds does their job best when it looks as though they are doing nothing. What do Ombuds actually do? And how does one become an Ombuds? These and other pressing questions will be the topic of conversation on March 3rd.
