End Date: 4/15/2021End Time: 7:00 PM

Event Description:

You & Your Money: Invest in Your Future Now!
Date: April 15, 2021
Time: 5:00pm - 7:00pm

The past year has been unlike any we've experienced before. Families are struggling and many young adults will graduate into an uncertain job market. While there are systemic changes that must be addressed to provide an equitable future for all,  young adults today must learn personal finance matters so that they can have the confidence to make sound financial decisions in the near future.

The goal of this workshop to educate our students on how to manage their money better so that they can build a life of impact for themselves, their family and their community.

Our discussion with address the following questions:

  • What is your money mindset and how is it affecting how you think about and manage your money?
  • What employer benefits are out there and what should you take advantage of?
  • How can you build credit the right way?
  • Is it better to pay off debt or invest?
  • How to create a student loan repayment plan?
  • How to create generational wealth starting with you?
  • What it means to be part of the "sandwich" generation? Planning for your own families while taking care of your parents and older adults.
  • The first 25 students to register for the event will receive a complimentary copy of I Will Teach You to Be Rich by Ramit Sethi.

Financial literacy and independence are critical tools on the path toward your academic, professional, and personal goals!

The Office of Graduate Studies is excited to announce an event with Sisters for Financial Independence (link), an organization committed to educating young adults on how to better manage their money to build a life that positively impacts you, your career, and your future role in society. You won't want to miss this!

This event is co-sponsored by the Student Activity Association and the Office of Graduate Studies.
