High-Rise buildings remain the defining feature of urban areas, and even 20 years af- ter 9/11, challenges remain in fire and life safety. This book, the product of experi- enced high-rise firefighting experts, and high-rise emergency planners, promises to be a defining text in the field.
Batt. Chief Jerry Tracy (FDNY ret.) Is a well-known expert on fire Incident man- agement, and led path-breaking experiments on high-rise fires and ventilation. Jack Murphy (Fire Marshal, Leonia, NJ ret.) is an expert on firefighting and inci- dent management in high-rise buildings and a leader of the Fire Safety Director’s Association of Greater New York. Their co-author James Murtagh (Deputy Chief, FDNY ret.) is a retired Professor in the Fire Science program at John Jay Col- lege of Criminal Justice.
