Climate Change, Environmental Justice, and Sustainability

Spring 2021 TLC Open Conversation Series
co-sponsored by John Jay's Environmental Justice and Sustainability Program
& the John Jay Teaching and Learning Center

Climate change, environmental justice, and sustainability are among the most urgent issues about which we need to educate our students. In a world that has been fundamentally altered by the impact of modern societies on the global environment, they directly affect our students’ daily lives and will shape their futures, no matter their career choices. Climate change, environmental justice, and sustainability are also by their nature transdisciplinary topics that require the participation of faculty in all departments and collaboration across the curriculum if we are to understand and teach them well. This series of TLC Open Conversations, co-sponsored by John Jay’s Environmental Justice and Sustainability Program and the John Jay Teaching and Learning Center, will offer ideas, resources, and tools from experienced faculty, as well as perspectives from our students, for anybody interested in incorporating the topics into their courses. Please join us.
