Tony Award–winning director Garry Hynes and Druid, Ireland’s most innovative theater company, make their fourth Lincoln Center Festival appearance and first foray into the works of Shakespeare with DruidShakespeare: The History Plays. Mark O’Rowe’s distillation of Richard II, Henry IV parts I and II, and Henry V into a single, continuous narrative explores the nature of leadership and honor while telling a key story in the making of the English nation—including the ruthless suppression and appropriation of the land, language, and people of Ireland.
