Event Description:
Criminal Justice Matters - Nov 4th Air Date on CUNY TV
BREATHING SPACE: IS THERE LIFE AFTER PRISON?

What do an artisanal ice-cream shop, organic local vineyard and a construction business have in common? They were all innovations of formerly incarcerated people or, as is the preferred term, ‘returning citizens.’ A program in the Catskills started by two former inmates turned business entrepreneurs. Ray Rios and Angel Ramos (John Jay alum) discuss their “Breathing Space” sanctuary with Criminal Justice Matters host Stephen Handelman. Professors Yolanda Martin of BMCC and Robert Garot of John Jay introduce their documentary film on the project.

Airdates on CUNY TV:

Wednesday, Nov 4 - 10:00am, 3:00pm, 11:00pm
Saturday, Nov 7 - 8:00pm
Sunday, Nov 8 - 10:00am
