Event Description:

“Staging Rape” – Theater by Student Playwrights

Acting for Justice: Social, Sexual and Gender

“Staging Rape” will consists of a series short plays written by John Jay students and performed by professional NYC actors.

The plays represent rape in diverse scenarios ranging from the treatment of rape victims in social services, culturally contentious
legal categories, and campus date rape, to the sexual vulnerability of immigrants crossing borders and sexual violence among members of LGBTQI communities and religious groups. Some of the plays will include Spanish and Jamaican Patois.
