Dr. Ayman El-Mohandes is Dean of the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy. His funded research focuses on population-based interventions in underserved populations both local and global. He has been active in the response to COVID-19 since March 2020, in New York City and around the world.
Dr. Jodie Roure is an Associate Professor in the Latin American and Latino/a Studies Department at John Jay College, and President and CEO of the Hurricane Maria Assistance & Relief Institutional Alliance, Inc. Her scholarship and activism touch human rights issues and expanding post- disaster services in Puerto Rico.
George Contreras is Assistant Director of the Center for Disaster Medicine at New York Medical College, an Adjunct Associate Professor at John Jay College, and a seasoned paramedic. His scholarship and expertise touch emergency medical services and disaster medicine, public health, and health services admin.
Dr. Jessica Gordon Nembhard is a Professor of Community Justice and Social Economic Development in John Jay’s Department of Africana Studies. Her research explores democratic community economics, cooperative economic development, and racial wealth inequality.
Dr. Charles Jennings is an Associate Professor in John Jay’s Department of Security, Fire, and Emergency Management, and the Director of the College’s RaCERS Center. His research focuses on response to complex incidents and public safety policy.
